Friday’s Featured Snowflake

I had no idea when I named this blog Confessions of a Snowflake how much the Lord would actually have me confess.  My life has always been an open book.  I've never shied from telling people how I feel or why I feel that way.  But I have shared things here that I might not have shared in my daily life.

When I began to open up about my own struggles, you, my sweet readers and friends, began telling me how much you appreciated it.  I often get comments thanking me for being open and honest and that it encouraged them in a similar trial.

And you know what my friends?  That is Biblical.  There is power in our testimony.

They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.  Revelation 12:11

I don't understand much about the book of Revelation.  But there are some really amazing scriptures in there.  If I get this one right, it means that the enemy will be overcome in the end times by the power of the believers' testimonies.

That is you and I my friends.

Our testimonies have power to encourage other believers.  When we encourage those believers, we defeat the enemy.  He is waiting for our trials to break us.  He wants to see us walk away from the Lord because of the difficulties in our lives.  He doesn't want to see us walk in the peace of God.  And he doesn't want to be reminded of the power of God in our lives.

If we allow ourselves to be open and honest, our testimonies can be powerful weapons in the kingdom of God.  People find comfort in knowing other people struggle with the same burdens and trials.  And they find strength in knowing that helped others in their time of need.

That is the basis behind a new series I am starting…Friday's Featured Snowflake.

I have long wanted a way to feature fellow bloggers here.  Unfortunately I don't always do a very good job of replying to comments and visiting other bloggers…even though I love both.  So this series is sort of my giving back to all of the great readers that I have.  Thank you for  your continued commitment and support of this blog.  You'll never know how much it warms my heart to be told that you read my blog and that it touched you.

So what is Friday's Featured Snowflake?

It's where other believers share their testimony.  It can be anything from how someone was saved to how God helped them through a difficult trial to how someone's marriage was saved.  Or it can be as simple as how a scripture really impacted their life.  The point is to encourage one another in this life that is often filled with pain and discouragement.

I am so excited about the first Snowflake that I will be sharing with you next Friday….Leigh from Funky Faith Girl.  I first met Leigh at Blissdom in January.  Since then we have spent lots of time chatting on Twitter.  She has even invited me to be a regular contributor to her blog.  She's such a sweetie!  When I heard how God had restored her marriage, I knew I had to share her story with you.  So I can't wait to do that next Friday.

How about you?  Do you have a testimony you would like to share?  This series is all about you.  Email me (aliciathesnowflake@gmail.com) and let's talk about it!
