WLWed: Getting Back Into Routine

Since summer is coming to an end, let's talk about it.  Anytime there is a change in seasons or routines, it can have a negative effect on your weight loss goals.  So how can you plan to not let this happen?  How will you stay on plan through the change?  Or what things to you plan to do differently?  I hope to see you then!

Wow!  What a summer it's been!

But as much as I enjoyed it, I'm ready to get back into routine.  Summer wreaked havoc on my work out plans.  Unfortunately ours was rather busy.  When we weren't traveling, there were meetings…lots of homeschool group planning meetings.  And work.  Because our activity schedule is generally lighter during the summer, I work more hours at our family business.

All of this made it difficult to really work out much.  If it weren't for going running at day break, I don't think I would have gotten a workout done at all.  I was barely able to get any Pilates done this summer.  So I am really feeling yesterday's arm and ab work.

We are planning on starting back to school the first full week of September.  With school comes some sort of normal routine.  I'm looking forward to being home all morning on most days.  I'll be able to get back to my routine of working out while my son is doing his school work.  I like to work out at home then because I want to be available if he needs help.

Getting back to schedule also means getting back to a regular eating schedule.  I haven't done a very good job this summer of meal planning.  As a result meals have been rather haphazard.  I can take that for a while, but then I'm ready for more good home cooked meals.  It's time to start planning again!

All of this to say that yes, as much as I enjoyed summer, I'm ready for school again.  I can't say that my son feels the same way ;)   But there's a time for everything, right?

I have to update you on my weight loss.

I lost an additional 1.2 lbs this week.  This brings my total weight loss to 61.6 lbs.  I am now under my goal weight.

My WW leader has been talking to me about stopping the weight loss.  I must say that I am trying to eat more.  I am going to have to figure out a balance.  But I'm really not too worried about it.  I think my body will even out.  Besides we're getting ready to go on our family vacation in the next month.  I am pretty sure I will gain a few pounds back at that time ;)

Enough about me!

How are you doing my friend?

I've been missing some of you that normally check in with me.  I'd love to hear from you.  Getting back into schedule also means getting back into blogging routine.  I'm hoping this means I'll have more time to do a better job visiting all of you and responding to your comments.  I'd love to know how you're doing with your weight loss goals.  So please take a few minutes and comment to let me know!

With school starting back, it can be difficult to spend time as a family.  So how can you incorporate family time into your weight loss efforts?  Let's talk about it next week.  I hope to see you then!

In the meantime, remember….

  1. I always look forward to your Wednesday posts!  I'm still struggling, and so upset with myself.  I was doing soooo well for about 3 months.  I was losing weight, and more importantly…feeling better physically, and better about myself.  But, with all sorts of craziness going on this summer (TONS of travelling and a move across the state!), and some depression/anxiety thrown in there…I've completely fallen off the wagon over the past couple of months and am in dire need of getting back on track.  You are an inspiration though…I want to be where you are and the only way is to work at it.
I'm just so frustrated about the backsliding, because for a few weeks, I had reached the point of not craving food like I did before.  I had reached the point where food was sustenance.  I didn't have to use will power and fight against myself all day long where food was concerned, and I even enjoyed working out.  And now I'm having to start all over again and it's exhausting to think about.
(Sorry to take up so much space whining…lol)

Hooray for routine!  Glad I am not the only one who likes things a set way.  HA!  It will be nice.  Sounds like you are doing and feeling awesome friend.  YES!  You are right, your body will even out.  You will adjust and continue to feel amazing.

  3. I'm so proud of you for meeting & passing your goal! You're a beautiful woman, inside & out, and I'm so glad we got the chance to meet at the first Relevant conference :)

Blessings to you in your new school year!! (((hugs)))
