This week's topic is…
Introductions
Since it's the beginning of a new year, let's start fresh. Tell us about yourself. Why are you trying to lose weight? What is your inspiration?

For my introduction, I thought I would share the purpose behind Weight Loss Wednesday.
Last February, I posted about going to Weight Watchers. It wasn't an easy post. But I knew it was time to be real about my weight. Others posted about their own struggles as well and Weight Loss Wednesday was born.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12b
The purpose of Weight Loss Wednesday is to create a community of three strands where we share encouragement and provide accountability for one another in our weight loss journeys. It isn't a place for criticism or guilt. It is a place to simply share victories and struggles, thoughts and emotions.
This is done through a weekly blog meme dedicated to our weight loss journey. You write a post about that week's topic and link up on Wednesday. It's easy peasy.
Since that day last February, I have lost 29 lbs. It hasn't always been easy. But I have appreciated having a place to come every Wednesday to share my journey with others. So I have continued to host Weight Loss Wednesday even though there were times I wanted to quit. Knowing others were there has kept me going.
Along the way, I have learned some important lessons about myself. Mostly I have learned that I am stronger than I thought I was. Going back to Weight Watchers was probably one of the hardest things I've done. It felt so completely overwhelming to make a lifestyle change.
I see the look on the faces of new members now and I remember that feeling. I remember feeling so tired all the time. I remember feeling helpless and hopeless and thinking that I could never change.
But I have learned that you can move a mountain with one step. All it takes is that commitment to get started. Then that commitment becomes one change which becomes another change which becomes another change. Pretty soon the mountain is moving and the weight is coming off.
So as I face a new year, I'm ready to get serious about my weight loss again. I hope you'll join me. Together we can make a difference in our lives!
How about you my friend? Are you ready to make a difference in your life? Are you ready to make a change. Then join us for Weight Loss Wednesday. Remember…we're all in this together!
It's easy. Write a blog post about this week's topic and link back to this post. Then register with Mr. Linky below. Please know, though, that I reserve the right to delete any link that does not conform to the spirit of Weight Loss Wednesday. You can also join us on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #wlwed.
Also please remember to visit some of the other participants as well. It's very encouraging to know you are not alone in this journey.
Next week's topic…
Changes – What are some changes you have made in your life that have really made a difference? Is it eating more fruits? Or cutting out carbs? Or Throwing out all the Christmas chocolate? What changes are helping you in your weight loss goals?
In the meantime, remember….
Quitting is not an option!

Hi Alicia,
Just popped in to say hello and catch up. I continue to pray for you along your journey to whip yourself into physical shape while getting closer to the Lord in the process. I always appreciate your wisdom and am always inspired by you.
God Bless,
Barb

Well done friend. Looking forward to an incredible 2012!
Thanks Chelle! I think it will be a great year. It will definitely be the year I reach goal. I am determined!
I think you're doing wonderful with your weight loss. Once I put my mind to something I can usually get it accomplished. I am continuing my journey by cutting back 99% of my sugar intake and exercising at least 4-6X a week. I'm feeling great and starting to see a difference. It helps to have a support team, that's for sure.
Keep up the good work my friend!
HUGS
Kim
Kim, why is sugar such a big problem for us?!?! I think I am going to throw out all the leftover Christmas goodies so that I am not tempted by them anymore. That would be a great help! Thanks for stopping by today. Blessings to you my friend!
You would have been proud of me. I didin't make one sweet treat for Christmas. I let the family have things that other people made so they weren't deprived but I didn't eat anything. I've also found a replacement for sugar that is a bit more expensive (so you don't use it near as often) but it has a very low glycemix index. It's called Coconut Crystals. You should check it out. I'm surprised at how not tempted I am. My BFF can vouch for that because she knows how I used to be. And now I won't even eat one of her cupcakes. LOL!
Have a great day Alicia!
I was doing really well last fall before I went on vacation. But then I indulged some on vacation & I've had a hard time ever since. I'm trying now to cut out sweets again. I will definitely check out the Coconut Crystals. I need a good alternative for my coffee!
Kudos to all who lose weight! and the reason behind the weight…..

Okay, that's it. I'm in. It's time to get serious. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Ginger of Here's My Cup Lord. Posting a review on "Made to Crave" was the door to change. Now I am finally walking through. I will not be joining a program, but will join you on this journey to keep track of weight and progress. Perhaps a little encouragement and accountablity is all we need.
Hey Ginger!!!! I'm so glad you are going to join us! You can do this! Just remember…one step at a time. Don't look at the total you need to lose. Break it down into achievable goals. Make small changes. Then you will be able to maintain it. Rooting for you my friend!
