This week's topic is…
Thanksgiving
With so much attention on food, Thanksgiving can be a dieter's nightmare. How are you going to handle the holiday in regards to your weight loss goals? Are you changing up your menu? Have you revamped some family favorites? Or are you just going to try to maintain over the holiday? I hope you'll come and share with us. Remember it's all about being a community of 3 strands…providing encouragement and support for one another in our weight loss journey. Together, we can make a difference in our lives.

I know this probably sounds terrible, but we will not be eating a big family meal for Thanksgiving. Instead we will be spending the day working. A prior tenant trashed a rental property that we own. We are going to use the four day weekend to work on it. Sad, I know. But it is necessary.
Working presents it's own set of challenges too. Usually we eat a lot of fast food when we do something like this. I am going to make this time different.
My Father-in-Law makes a delicious fried turkey. We are going to take one with us to make sandwiches. I'm also planning on fruits and veggies plus healthy snacks. It will take a little bit of work, but I think I can make it work.
I may try to find a low-fat dessert to make and take with us too. A little treat will be nice during those long days. Do you have any recommendations for one that is easily portable?
Today was my weigh in day. I have to admit that I was expecting a gain. Although I was pretty good this week, the two weeks before weren't great. Between that and my hormones this week, I was afraid it would all catch up with me.
Well the good news is that I didn't gain. I didn't lose either. Somehow I managed to stay the same. So I am holding steady at 28 lbs total lost.
I really am ready to hit that 30 lbs mark. So this week, I am going to do a better job of tracking. After being sick those two weeks, I am getting back in the exercise routine. I hope to do better this week.
Oh and I have to share another bit of excitement!
This weekend I bought new jeans a size smaller! Yay!
Even better???
After wearing them I realized it's not going to be long before I can wear another size smaller. Double Yay!!!

Holding steady is better than a gain, so way to go! That 30 lb. mark will be here before you know it.
I'll be honest, there isn't much I like better than a turkey sandwich made from leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Yum! Hopefully, the planned eating along with the physical labor will equal a great loss for you next week.
Thanks, Kris! I’m hoping that next week will put me over the 30 lb mark. But we’ll wait and see. I am learning that it’s not about an individual weigh-in. Those can vary. Instead it’s more about the long haul and what is happening over the course of weeks/months. I’m feeling good about the overall loss….which in turn helps me feel better about myself. Yay!!!
So excited for you! After I lost the 9 lbs I kind of plateaued but I think I'm gaining more muscle strength because I think I'm still losing inches. So we all know that muscle weighs more than fat so I'm counting on that for being the reason why I'm not losing as quickly any more.
For Thanksgiving I am definitely scaling down. I'll be using Coconut Crystals instead of sugar for desserts and I won't have near the pies as usual. In fact I think I'm only making 3 desserts this year. Yay!
I hope you have a great week my friend. And you do what you gotta do right? Just bring those healthy snacks with you when you are fixin' up your rental and enjoy those turkey sandwiches. YUM!
HUGS!
Kim
