Whew! Can you believe it's Wednesday again already?!?!?
Not me!
Time really does fly when you're having fun!
Today's Weight Loss Wednesday is all about what keeps us on this weight loss journey. What successes have you had that keep you going? Are there any scriptures and/or quotes that keep you focused? Or how do you keep at it when you've had a frustrating week? The point is it's all about you and your weight loss journey.
First I have a little confession and story to share with you today.
One of my biggest downfalls is Coke. I don't want any other brand. I want Coke. And I love to drink it. Sometimes I drink it to settle my stomach, which is probably just an excuse. Either way this was my story yesterday morning.
After breakfast, my stomach felt a little unsettled and I thought a Coke would be a good drink to take for my drive. There was a coke machine on my floor as I was leaving the hotel. I tried to give the machine a dollar and it wouldn't take it. Then I tried to give it the 5 quarters it needed.
Can you guess what happened next?
It lit up….SOLD OUT.
I laughed out loud!
I couldn't help think about my morning devotion , which included the following scripture…
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
God is always faithful. He always provides a way out of temptation.
The question is…do we always take it?
During these moments of temptation it is important to remember why we are trying to lose weight and the motivating factors that keep us on this weight loss journey…even when we really want a coke…or whatever your temptation might be.
So can I be real honest here?
For me, one of my reasons is that my pants…actually capris since it's summer…fit so much better. It feels good not to have to suck it all in to get them to zip up. And it feels good knowing that they are not cutting off my circulation.
Also, I have started to buy some things in a smaller size and they still fit well. This feels really good. And it helps me to stay motivated knowing that I really can do this and I really can make a difference in my life.
So what about you my friend? What keeps you on this weight loss journey?
Won't you join me for Weight Loss Wednesday.
Write a blog post it, referencing this post. Then link up with Mr. Linky below. Please know, though, that I reserve the right to delete any link that does not conform to the spirit of Weight Loss Wednesday. You can also join us on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #wlwed.
Next week, let's talk about what is working for our weight loss journey? Are there certain habits that you have changed that are really enjoying? Is there something you have substituted in your diet that you really enjoy? Or a certain workout that you are surprised you can actually do? Again, the point is that it is all about you and your weight loss journey. I hope to see you then!

Ugh, I'm not super encouraged in the scale department right now. The last few weeks I've made a concerted effort to eat drastically more raw foods (fruits, vegetables, nuts), cut out large amounts of carbs, and soda. … and still the scale doesn't move.
Whoever, I am feeling a lot better and have more energy. So for now I'm using that as motivation to keep going.
Jessica, that is frustrating! But I'm glad you are feeling better! Surely a difference at the scale will come soon!

Hooray for you. This post made me literally laugh out loud. I love it! be blessed friend, and congrats on better fitting clothes and smaller sizes
Thank you, sweet Chelle! I'm glad I could give you a laugh
Love this story, my weakness is Diet Coke I have been known to go to great lengths to get one. I actually will be able to write and link next week………….I have a story to add to this, YAY.
Charity, that is exactly how I feel about Coke! I am trying to give it up completely…but so hard. I can't wait for you to join us next week. And can I say again….how much I enjoyed our time together yesterday?!?! What a blessing!!!!!
Oh Alicia. Before 2008 I drank Coke's all day! I loved them! I don't think I've had once since, but I can definitely relate.
WIth everything going on with my parents the past 3 weeks I haven't cared about my weight loss. I have been eating pizza, tacos, chocolate, cookies, gold fish, whatever! In the grand scheme of life, weight was unimportant. After 3 weeks of dodging the scale, expecting a 6 pound or more gain — I braved the scale Monday. I was actually down a few ounces. THEN yesterday I weighed again and I was down another pound. So whew — I was grateful!
Now you have me wanting to taste a Coke! Ha.
Yes, loose clothes are a great non-scale victory!
Beth, I am SO glad to know someone else understands my need
I'm so sorry to hear about yoru parents. I pray things are getting back to some semblance of normal. Glad to hear you managed to lose a pound in the midst of all that craziness! Big (((hugs))) to you my friend!

Well, coming from where I started, this could be a really, really long list, but some of the main things that keep me motivated are:
- Not being ashamed to meet new people becuase of my weight
- Not being ashamed of being undressed in front of my husband
- Feeling strong and healthy
- Being able to wear regular-sized clothing
- Being able to walk up stairs or tie my shoes without getting out of breath
- Having my husband and kids, friends and family, even total strangers be proud of me.
I could go on and on, but I'm loving this new healthy lifestyle. I'll never go back to obesity.
Kris, that is so encouraging to hear! You have worked incredibly hard to lose that much weight. You are truly an inspiration!
No change for me. Like I told Kris in her commenst, I had a rough couple of days. I need to try to figure out how to exercise without throwing myself into a fibromyalgia flare-up. I tend to go overboard with exercising and then can't do anything for a couple of days. I will figure it out though! Glad you are seeing a change!
Ouch, Joy! A flare up is not fun at all! I pray you are able to find something that works for you. Thanks for dropping by today!
Wow! I'm amazed sometimes at how God blesses even with small things llike the "Sold Out", but why should I be amazed? We serve a great God!

Hi Alicia,
We had a rough week this week with the flu going around our house. I had to push through some excuses, but I think I figured out that there is always a way around them.
Congratulations on fitting smaller sizes.
Blessings

Love that story!! I have so many things that should be motivating me right now, but I am in limbo and not really making any effort. Hubs wants to start a new diet and wants me to join in, so we'll probably try doing something new starting this week and I still need to exercise more! Thanks for always being so encouraging and I'm so proud of your weight loss, especially since I know just how hard it can be!! Hugs!
