Spending Some Time Off-Line

I don't really talk about it much, but I serve as the Assistant Director of our local Christian homeschool group.  It is a lot of work, but I have always found it very rewarding.  I believe very much that the Lord called our family to homeschool and I feelstrongly about encouraging other parents in their homeschool journey.

Every year in the spring we have a board meeting where we re-elect board members.  Last year something happened and feelings were hurt.  We tried to handle it in a Christ-like matter.

On the surface the situation was resolved.  However, I am now realizing there were deeper spiritual ramifications.  I regret that I have not spent more time in prayer for our group.  My raw emotions feel like I have not done a very good job as a leader.

We have our annual board re-elections this Thursday.  Most of our board members are stepping down.  They each have their own reasons and that's ok.  I understand it is time for them to move on.  But I see it as a sympton of those deeper spiritual issues.

I also see it as a call to prayer.

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

So I am stepping away from my online world this week.  I will not be on Twitter or Facebook.  Chelle at Chasing the Divine will be hosting Weight Loss Wednesday for me this week.

Instead I will spend that time in prayer.

I will be praying for God's peace in our group that we may be united as one and love one another with His love.  I will ask for His direction in the selection of new board members and our activities for the coming year.  Ultimately it is His group and I pray that we are sensitive to His leading.

Thank you, sweet friends, for understanding my time away.

I know God will be faithful to meet you as you spend time in prayer.  He is a God of reconciliation, and will pray He makes that completely evident this week.
I would be happy to host WLW this week if you would like me to.  Your call since it's your baby :)

  2. Praying for you all right now. God is truly showing me how much we need to realize prayer is not just one of the things we benefit from, it is our true connection to His Spirit's power in our lives.

Time in prayer is certainly never wasted time. Oh how I know how the Devil likes to sew discord and I'll be praying for you that the Lord will give you wisdom as you seek His face.
