I'm tired tonight.
Tuesdays are a very long day for me. It was a good day that even included an unexpected blessing. But right now all I can think about is being tired.
It reminds me of a thought I am coming to terms with this week….
Losing weight is hard work.
It's hard work planning healthy meals for myself & my family.
It's hard work measuring and tracking what I eat.
It's hard work trying to find time to exercise.
It's hard work staying in town later to go to my Weight Watcher's meeting.
Losing weight is hard work.
But I am also reminded of a familiar verse…
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
The harvest is what keeps me going.
I like the results.
I like that I don't have to suck it in to zip up my jeans.
I like that I can then bend over in said jeans.
I like that the scale said I was 2.4 pounds lighter for a total of 6.6 pounds lost.
I even like the sore muscles that say I'm working them.
My friends, we are worth all of that hard work. We are worth the extra effort and energy. We are worth taking the time out of our busy schedules to make our bodies healthier and trimmer.
When we step on the scales, we will see the fruits of our labor. When we zip up our jeans, we will feel a difference. And as we continue to treat our bodies better, we will feel pride in a job well done.
Keep up the good work, my friends, in due time you will see results!
What about you my friend? How did you do this week?

Thank you Alicia, for this post. It's easy to lose focus and become weary. I have to keep the small victories in front of me every day.
Yes the small victories is life
You go girl! You can do it!

Hooray for weight loss! I think it's more about planning than hard work. Plan your monthly meals ahead of time (that's what I do anyway). All our meals are in the freezer and taken out as needed. It's work on one day of the month, and then you don't have to worry about it. (I use Holly Clegg's Trim & Terriffic Freezer Friendly Meals cookbook). And, write down when you are doing to workout on your daily calendar. That way, you know you have scheduled time to take care of yourself each day.
You are developing habits, and once those are in place, it won't be so hard. I think what is harder, for most, is feeling worth the effort.

I was going to skip tonight working out, but after reading here, I will get myself together and work out. Here I go…
I'm praying for you too – that always helps!
Have I ever told you my healthy fun fast popcorn diet tip? You take a PLAIN brown paper lunch bag. Put 1/3 cup plain old popping corn in it. Fold the top over once, 1 inch, lightly. Put in micro. Pop till it slows down (dep on micro generally 2 mins) then after that its up to you what you want to put on it! Kids love this, they can have their "own" popcorn bag, it saves $$$, its healthy and fast. What more could you ask for?
Love, Barb
